In an unprecedented partnership, the Brazilian Association of XR Companies and Professionals  – or extended reality – (XRBR) shares the responsibility of curating topics related to Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) with the organizers in the second edition of Rio Creative Conference (Rio2C). Aimed at audiovisual, music, media, science and technology professionals and enthusiasts, the event will be curated by XRBR in an exclusive space for workshops, panels and keynotes, which dissect this market, from the conception of a game design document to post-production and immersive entertainment challenges and even industry applications.

In the coming days, the public will have access on the XRBR space to the biggest names in extended realities in the country. In addition to them, companies such as Unity, Unreal, Avell and Nvidia will be at the site. It will not only be content, as XRBR offers three domes with virtual and augmented reality experiences, one of which is curated by VR Days, bringing the best virtual reality experiences in an unprecedented way in Brazil. Even in space, the public will be able to experience Venturion, an adventure in hyper-reality and the game The Last Squad on the Arkave platform, an immersive multiplayer experience in virtual reality, which is presented for the first time in Brazil with wireless transmitters, eliminating the use of backpacks. Despite seeming complex, the term “Extended Realities” is widely used to cover VR, AR, MR, among other immersive media, increasingly explored in entertainment and branded content.

Officially constituted as an association in December 2018, with the union of 27 companies operating in the market, most based in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, XRBR’s mission is to strengthen the segment so that more people have access to these technologies. The group has already mapped more than 120 companies in Brazil that are working with VR, AR and MR and many of the working professionals end up coming from other sectors of audiovisual production. This proximity was one of the main factors for the partnership between XRBR and Rio2C to happen.

Rio2C, which began on Tuesday (23) and continues until Sunday (28), is the most important business meeting in the audiovisual sector in the Southern Hemisphere. Aimed at audiovisual, music, media, science and technology professionals and enthusiasts, it had seven previous editions, but with the name  Rio Content Market. Rio2C has the presence of big names in entertainment, such as Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones (creators of the Black Mirror series) and Ted Sarandos (Chief Content Officer of Netflix).
